"Dunk 'n' Dash" is a maneuver practiced by skilled aeronauts where they glide the bottom of the basket across the top of the water of the Rio Grande and lift off again without getting wet (allegedly). This maneuver has been poorly executed by the Coyote and the Road Runner is close behind him offering a towel to dry off with in consolation.
The image is full of traditional Killen iconography, from the zoetrope-like character figures circling Coyote's balloon, to the actual Road Runner and Coyote footprints in the sand of the river bank. The state flower of New Mexico, the Yucca, is featured as well as the state butterfly and toad. And somewhere, hidden in the design is an actual Road Runner. Can you spot it?
